	Maruzen e-Book Library (MARUZEN-YUSHODO)
	This is a platform that provides e-books (electronic books) specializing in academic books for institutional users such as universities. You can read the full text of over 4,000 electronic books via Hiroshima University. By choosing the ‘Search from Subscribed Titles’ button on the top page, you can filter to only those that can be read in HU. The user guide is available here. Please also refer to the video version of the user guide. Single sign-on is required when logging in from outside the school. By following the prescribed procedures, you can also download electronic books. However, the following acts are strictly prohibited: Downloading more than the maximum number of pages displayed on the 'Print/Save' screen per person per title. Using the downloaded file for purposes other than the research and study purposes of the person who downloaded it. Sharing, transferring, circulating, or redistributing the downloaded file within a laboratory, company, group, etc., or to a third party. Jointly downloading more than the maximum number of pages of one title by multiple people. (For example, it is prohibited to borrow someone else's email address and download more than the limit.) Regardless of the reason or purpose, circumventing the technical protection measures or technical restrictions used in this service or electronic books, such as removing, changing, disabling, etc. Performing interlibrary loans or document copying services (so-called interlibrary loans, etc.) for other institutions. Anything else that is prohibited in the terms of use. In addition, authentication using an email address is required when executing a download and when viewing a downloaded file. If unauthorized use in violation of the above has been confirmed, restrictions will be implemented for the entire university. 	Union Catalogue Database of Japanese Texts (National Institute of Japanese Literature)
	This is a database constructed by the National Institute of Japanese Literature, which allows users to search and use at once bibliographic information and high-resolution images of Japanese manuscripts and prints before Edo period, held by NIJL and many other institutions and owners at home and overseas. It is open to the public free of charge and can be used by anyone. This database is a developmental integration of the 'Union Catalogue of Early Japanese Books', a comprehensive catalogue of Japanese classical books, and the 'Database of Pre-Modern Japanese Works', established through the 'Project to Build an International Collaborative Research Network for Pre-modern Japanese Texts (NIJL-NW project)'. >More information

	Some articles on this website are available only in Japanese. If necessary, please use the browser’s automatic translation function. This is a comprehensive full-text database of dictionaries and encyclopedias in Japan. The database contains over 70 dictionaries and encyclopedias, including the “Nihon Dai Hyakka Zensho”, “Nihon Kokugo Daijiten”, and the Dictionary of the Japanese Language, and dictionaries in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian and more. ◆Request to deactivate the link look-ahead function(updated 7 July 2023) When using Japan Knowledge, please disable the setting using the procedure described in the link above.
