The Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Vists Central Library
図書館On February 21st, 2024, Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, came to Hiroshima University for a courtesy visit. After his meeting with the Executive Vice President in charge of Global Initiatives Shinji Kaneko, he made a stop at Central Library.
At Central Library, Director of Libraries Yuko Kawashima joined a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, guests, and library staff to exchange ideas about library operations.
Afterwards, the Vice Chancellor took a tour of the library, listened to an explanation of the Writing Center by an English tutor working at the Writing Center, and was able to view various items from the Valuable Materials Collection, including a “Nara Ehon”.

(March, 2024~) About Changes to and Suspensions of Databases
The following databases will be changed or suspended from the end of March 2024. For information on how to use these databases in the future, please refer to the following:
【Changing】
・ProQuestDissertations & Theses A&I
It is still possible to access Web of Science and change the search target database to 「ProQuest™ Dissertations & Theses Citation Index」in order to search for articles. However, you can no longer browse the contents of the articles.
For information on how to find open access doctoral dissertations and how to buy access to articles,please refer to this page (Japanese page).
【Suspended】
・APA PsycARTICLES
It is still possible to search for articles in the APA PsycINFO databaseas before.
However, to gain access to articles that are not available in Hiroshima University’s holdings or contracts, you will need to get it through another institution, so please apply for an interlibrary copy or loan request (Japanese page) on the library website.
・JDreamIII 科学技術文献データベース
With the suspension of JDreamIII, we have provided a guide to the main databases where you can search for articles related to science and technology, medicine and pharmacy. Please use these from now on.
