Open Access (OA) refers to the state in which research results, such as papers, are made publicly available on the Internet and can be accessed and used by anyone free of charge. By making them Open Access, research results can be made available to a wider audience and the impact of research results can be beneficial.
There are two main ways to make articles open access.
1. Open access in academic journals (Gold OA) This is a method of paying an Article Processing Charge (APC) to the publisher of a journal and making the journal open access on the publisher's platform.
Hiroshima University provides support for subsidizing the Article Processing Charge (APC). →APC Support
2. Open access from institutional repositories, etc. (Green OA) This is a method of making articles published in academic journals open access through institutional repositories and other means.
