MYple payment will not be accepted for interlibrary loan requestsafter after May 31st 2024
As stated in the notice below, due to the launch of the cashless payment service, MYple payment (money charged on your Hiroshima University ID card) will not be accepted for interlibrary loan requests (photocopy, book-lending, etc.)after May 31st 2024at Central Library,
Please use the convenient cashless payment system.

At Central Library and West Library payments made at the circulation counter such as for copies, etc. can now be completed with credit cards, IC cards, smartphone payment, and other cashless payment methods.
New major payment methods accepted:
・Credit Card（VISA, MASTER, JCB, AMERICAN EXPRESS, etc.）
・IC Card (Rakuten Edy, WAON, nanaco, IC cards for transport such as pasmo/suica/etc. ,QUICPay, iD）
・Smartphone payment（PayPay, dpay, Rakuten Pay, auPAY, Merpay, Yucho Pay, etc.）
・Debit Card（J-Debit）

Weekends and Holidays 10：00 ～ 15 minutes before closing
※MYple(money charged on your Hiroshima University ID card) is accepted 10：30～ 15 minutes before closing

Weekdays 8：45～ 15 minutes before closing
Please keep in mind：
・Cashless payment may not be available for some services, depending on what organization is handling the order.
・You cannot use more than one payment method.
・Cash payment is accepted on weekdays from 8:45-16:30 (excluding Central Library’s limited service days, usually the 3rd Thursday of every month).
・After May 31st 2024 at Central Library,MYple payment (money charged on your Hiroshima University ID card) will not be accepted for interlibrary loan requests (photocopy, book-lending, etc.).

The Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia Vists Central Library
On February 21st, 2024, Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, came to Hiroshima University for a courtesy visit. After his meeting with the Executive Vice President in charge of Global Initiatives Shinji Kaneko, he made a stop at Central Library.
At Central Library, Director of Libraries Yuko Kawashima joined a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, guests, and library staff to exchange ideas about library operations.
Afterwards, the Vice Chancellor took a tour of the library, listened to an explanation of the Writing Center by an English tutor working at the Writing Center, and was able to view various items from the Valuable Materials Collection, including a “Nara Ehon”.

Some law journals will be moved from Central Library to Higashi-Senda Library
Since the School of Law will move to Higashi-Senda Campus in April 2023, we are going to move some law journals from Central Library to Higashi-Senda Library. The journals will be available on April 3rd in Higashi-Senda Library.
Moving Date: February 8, 13-15

The library is available for only Hiroshima University students and staff in this period.

The security guard goes around and asks for showing your student or staff ID card.
Student ID card (blue) or staff ID card (green) is required to enter and exit. People who do not have the University ID card are not able to use the library in the nights.

Hiroshima University Central Library is going to conduct a trial implementation of 24-hour opening during the following period.
