About possible suspension or changes of library opening times

From August 29th (Thr) to September 2nd (Mon) , typhoon is forecast to approach Hiroshima Prefecture.
Please be aware of the possibility of temporary closures or changes in opening hours.

If we decide to temporarily close or adjust opening hours, we will announce it on the library website and X (Twitter). Before visiting, please make sure to check for updates.

The form (only available in Japanese) will be released on August 2nd, 2024.

Books:
Please fill out the form, and you can pick them up at the West Library in a few days.
Members of Kasumi or Higashisenda Campus can also pick them up at the Kasumi Library or Higashisenda Library, but it takes more time.

Journals:
Please fill out the form, and you can pick them up at the West Library in a few days.
Journals cannot be taken out.
You cannot pick them up at other libraries.

Please note that the East Branch of the Information Media Center on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the East Library will remain available as usual.

Starting August 2nd, 2024, the stack room on the 1st floor of the East Library will be closed. It will primarily be used for storing materials such as infrequently used books and journal back files. Access to the stack room will no longer be permitted from August 2nd, 2024.

If you need to access materials in the stack room, please fill out the form on our website. A library staff member will retrieve them, and you can pick them up at the West Library in a few days
You can return them to any other library except the East Library..

Please note that the East Branch of the Information Media Center on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the East Library will remain available as usual.

We will provide more details in late July.

About InterLibrary Loan Request from August 9th to August 18th.

Due to the summer vacation, InterLibrary Copy/Loan Request will be suspended for the following period.

Date: Aug. 9th(Fri.) to 18th(Sun)

We will response to your requests after Aug. 19th(Mon.).

Please note that requests for express delivery and EDDS will be processed in the order of application.
Since many other libraries will still be closed due to Summer vacation after Aug. 19th(Mon.), it may take longer than usual for orders to arrive.

Because of the classes at the Higashihiroshima, Kasumi, and Higashisenda campuses on July 11st (Thur.) from the first period to the fourth period (8:45 AM to 12:00 PM) are canceled (except for some online classes).

As a result, all Libraries will be temporarily closed until noon (12:00 PM).

Hiroshima University Library Supporter HULS will hold an information session on student book selection.
If you are interested in this program but would like to make a decision after hearing about it, please join us!

【Deadline extended: 7/15】We are looking for members for the 2024 Book Selection by students!

The deadline for the following application has been extended to Monday, July 15!
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply.

We are also planning to hold an information session on Friday, July 12, from 4:30 p.m.
We will inform you of the details when they are finalized.


HULS is looking for new members to select library books together with us.
This activity is to select books necessary for university study and books to recommend to younger students from a student's point of view.
